Liberty National Golf Club doesn't do anything halfway. Perched on the Hudson River in Jersey City with the Manhattan skyline as its backdrop, the club has hosted the Presidents Cup and the FedEx Cup playoffs. Its members expect the best of everything, including the technology inside the clubhouse.
That's where CK Technology came in. We designed and installed a full-building technology package across the club's renovated spaces: the Golf/Pro Shop, the President's Cup Lounge, the outdoor dining area, and the back-of-house offices. One system, one touch, every room.
The hero of the project hangs in the Golf/Pro Shop: a 137-inch Planar LED video wall with a 1.5mm pixel pitch, delivering a seamless, bezel-free image at full HD resolution. It's the kind of display that stops foot traffic. Paired with eight in-ceiling speakers, a streaming audio player, and Lutron motorized shades to tame the daylight, the pro shop now feels as premium as the merchandise it sells.
A custom mounting frame, built in partnership with Planar's own technicians, holds the wall. Because when a display is built like this one, off-the-shelf hardware doesn't cut it.
Named for the 2017 Presidents Cup the club hosted, the lounge is built for tournament days. Five 50-inch Samsung 4K displays line the wall above the bar, with a 75-inch display anchoring the room, and every screen can show something different or sync together for the big moment. Multiple cable boxes feed the matrix, so the Masters can play on one screen while the Yankees hold another.
Audio is split into two independently controlled zones: the energy of the bar area and the quieter table-service seating. Twelve Lutron motorized shades, including cable-guided units for the angled facade windows, manage glare without anyone touching a cord. Occupancy sensors handle the lighting when the room empties.
Outside, four architectural bollard speakers deliver full-range audio across the dining terrace.
Each enclosure was sand-blasted and powder-coated in a custom color to disappear into the landscape design. In-ground fixtures and umbrella LEDs round out the lighting, all on the same control system as everything indoors.
Every subsystem, video, audio, lighting, and shades, runs through a Crestron control platform. Staff operate it all from 10-inch wall-mounted touch screens or the club's iPads, with up to four preset lighting scenes per area. No wall of remotes, no engineering degree required.
Auditoriums and performing arts spaces require technology capable of supporting many different uses.

The goal is to create a system that can support everything from a school assembly or guest speaker to performances, presentations, ceremonies, and special events.
Every ambitious project has a moment that tests the team. Days before a critical electrical inspection, the lighting documentation turned out to be incomplete, with a significant share of loads and circuits missing or inaccurate. CK got the lighting hardware vendor's director of commercial programming on site with less than 24 hours notice, built a temporary program with full emergency failover, and passed the inspection. Then the team re-engineered the system properly, sourcing components from the global market to hold the project deadline.
That's the part of the job you can't see in the finished photos, but it's the reason the finished photos exist.
From the pro shop's video wall to the lounge's tournament-day screens to the terrace's invisible audio, Liberty National's clubhouse now runs on technology worthy of the club. One platform, every space, built to disappear into the experience.
